The band is from 5 oz leather. The fastening bands have seven adjustment holes allowing a great fit from 8" down to 6 1 4" diameter. They are dyed assembled and acrylic sealed and coated with mink oil. Some color variation is normal with leather dye. These are dyed and then mink oiled so they are dark and lighten with age. All edges are burnished with wood for a sealed edge that resists fraying over

Nice sleeve

Bought this for my 14" HP Omnibook 5 and it fits perfectly. I would have preferred double zippers for security and easy of opening, especially the front pocket with its giant flap. Having both grab handles and a shoulder strap is ideal, even though attaching the shoulder strap is difficult. Overall, it's cute (I got the apricot blossom pattern) and functional.
